The Oh Hellos, Texas’ sensational folk rock and indie folk artists are bringing their signature sounds to Crescent Ballroom!
The Oh Hellos was formed in San Marcos (Texas) in 2011 by siblings Tyler and Maggie Heath. Tyler started his musical journey in 2007 by writing and recording music and went on to release 3 solo albums (Let It go, A Christmas Album, and We're All In This Together). 4 years later, he was writing a song for his mother’s birthday and his sister Maggie decided to join him. They had such a good time with it that they decided to form a band and released their eponymous debut extended play shortly thereafter. Their musical style is unique mix of folk and rock music and it has a wide ranging influence, from Fleet Foxes and Sufjan Stevens to The Middle East and the Muppets. They wrote, recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered their debut studio album (Through the Deep, Dark Valley) and recruited many touring musicians to help promote it. Their second album (Dear Wormwood) came out in 2015 and was inspired by mythology, folklore, apocalyptic literature, and the novels The Screwtape Letters (by C.S. Lewis) and The Name of the Wind (by Patrick Rothfuss). The album has been described as “at times delicate, intimate, affectionate; and at others, soaring and towering and joyfully explosive.”
