Pedro The Lion, Washington's sensational indie rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Crescent Ballroom!
Pedro the Lion started off in Seattle (Washington) in 2005 as a solo project of indie singer and songwriter David Bazan. He named the project after a character he made up for a possible children's book. The project's had a rotating line up of musicians over the years and it's currently a duo consisting of David (vocals, guitar, bass, drums, synthesizer, and percussion) and drummer Sean Lane. Their musical style spans many genres such as indie rock (a genre of alternative rock that originated in the United States and the United Kingdom in the 1980s, encapsulating the genres chamber pop, indie pop, lo fi, math rock, neo psychedelia, post punk revival, sadcore, and shoegaze), emo (a loosely categorized rock music genre characterized by expressive and often confessional lyrics), slowcore (a sub genre of alternative rock/indie rock that's generally characterized by bleak lyrics, downbeat melodies, slower tempos, and minimalist arrangements) and it has a lyrical focus on relationships (with both other people and God). The project's released 4 studio albums, 5 extended plays, 8 singles, and it's been featured on many compilation albums such as Exploitation of Sound Volume 1, The Unaccompanied Voice: An A Capella Compilation, and Location Is Everything (Volumes 1 and 2).
