Langhorne Slim (birth name Sean Scolnick) was born in Langhorne (Pennsylvania) in 1981 and is a singer, songwriter, and multi instrumentalist (guitar, banjo, and harmonica). His musical style is best described as a blend of alternative rock (is a style of rock music that emerged from the independent music underground of the 1980s and became widely popular in the 1990s), folk rock (a style that arose in the United States and the United Kingdom around the mid 1960s, pioneered by the Los Angeles band the Byrds, who began playing traditional folk music and songs by Bob Dylan with rock instrumentation, in a style heavily influenced by the Beatles and other British bands), and Americana (contemporary music that incorporates elements of various American roots music styles, including country, blues, roots rock, R&B, folk, and bluegrass, resulting in a distinctive roots oriented sound). He's had a stellar career with 7 studio albums, 1 live album, 1 extended play, and he's toured with The Avett Brothers, Murder By Death, Jeffrey Lewis, The Violent Femmes, Lucero, Rocky Votolato, and many others. He performs with a backing band that consists of Malachi DeLorenzo (drums), Jeff Ratner (bass), Casey McAllister (keys and accordion), and Richie Kirkpatrick (guitar).
