Jungle, England's sensational modern soul music collective is bringing its signature sounds to the Crescent Ballroom!
Jungle was formed in London (England) in 2013 by Tom McFarland and Josh Lloyd-Watson. It wasn't long before the duo transformed into a collective which now consists of Josh, Tom, Fraser MacColl, George Day, Dominic Whalley, Andro Cowperthwaite, and Rudi Salmon. While their musical style can be broadly classified as a blend of modern soul (a style of music with associated clothing and dance styles - precursors to the Disco era - that developed in Northern England in the early 1970s) and neo soul (a style of music that emerged from soul and contemporary R&B but is distinguished by a less conventional sound and the presence of many other genres ranging from jazz, funk, and hip hop to pop, fusion, and African music), it also includes elements of indie electronic (a subgenre of alternative/indie rock with affinity for electronic music, using samplers, synthesizers, drum machines, and computer programs) and alternative dance (a genre that blends the melodic song structure of alternative and indie rock with electronic beats, synths and/or samples, and club orientation of post disco dance music). They've had a stellar career with 1 studio album, 4 singles, and 5 music videos.
